This page has been created from a question of the mailing-list :
What program would you like to get for your RUPUTER ?
Here are RUPUTERER's wishes...

I would like a game like Mine Sweeper... DONE !

How about :
- a small modem, to download email on the go
- multi tv and hifi IR controler (with learning funktion and timer to turn devices on/off at programmed times)
- phone dial tone generator to "beep" phone numbers from the phone directory direktly into the phone (as the feature of the old psion series)
- some casino games like: slot machine, roulette, poker, black jack (you could gamble against others via ir port)
- text speller
- talking watch
- html browser (ofline reading of html files)
- multi ir conection, a "translator" to transfer files from i.e. palm, psion, hp lx, casio pc watch...
- mini town map, with way pointer (write in your position road and your gal road and it shows you the way)

Someone asked me, if a watch-software exists which tracks/stops the time for projects, for the time you spent at work etc. Meaning you press a button to start, press stop during lunch, and stop in the afternoon. Every time should be recorded and could be recalled later, but also all times for the project should be added together.
Maybe the screen could be divided into 4 fields, one displaying the actual time, one displaying the time today, one the total time used until now and one maybe display the time left (if specified). Another screen could list all times with date/time/from time/to time for a specified project.
It's not mainly a software I would really need, but it seems such sort of software is ideal for the ruputer... and maybe the ruputer is this sort of computer to "really" use such a programme...

Has anyone begun writing a program that will display current time AND stopwatch time/countdown timer simultaneously ?
I could really use such a program. I don't think it's very complicated, what do you think ?
In addition, the current chronometer and countdown timer are very limited with regards to amount of time they display. 9 hours for these clocks is very small. They should be able to display time to 99 hours each I would think.

Why not a doom-like ?!?

I just wondered if anyone had any plans for developing a really complete calculator for science purposes which could also include a full ability to convert american measurments to metric.
I know the one with the polish calculator does some but not all. It is not complete in many areas, many forms of math are not included. It's also in japanese as well. It should also be able to convert different currencies for different countries. Financial calculations for bank loans, other financial operations (annuity), etc.

Moving forward towards the subject I must admit I miss some of my last watch features (a Timex Data-Link 150). Here's some of them of the featured applications I'd like to run on my Ruputer:

1-Better capability of handling contacts.
a)I have a list of almost 300 contacts (basically Name and phone numbers). It's really annoying having to input them all using Ruputer's joystick. It's also hard to see that (as Anton early described), when you delete a contact it remains there 1 (invisible to address.exf but there for any Hex editor). This result in a frightening grow of your address.dat file. The only solution I came up with is, when I want to change anything I use my Hex editor (It's time consuming but effective).
b)Another bad thing about the Address app is the fact that it can sort the contents by name. I do miss the quick way to navigate through the list with the Data-Link. It was just a matter of pressing Previous/Next buttons to browse through the alphabet.

2) A way to have, at least, two time zone displayed simultaneously.
I usually have to contact someone from overseas and I do need to know the exact time at my contact hometown. With Data-Link I would push the Previous button to instantly access the 2nd time zone I programmed.

3) A way to integrate the apps To Do, Anniversaries, Appointments, etc.
What I mean is we could have a watch app that also included a way to browse through To Do, Anniversaries, Appointments, etc. and warn you if some important event was happening in a week. You would imagine how many times Data-Link "saved my life" regarding my girlfriend's anniversary and other important events I tend to forget.
So, if there's any programmers out there willing to make my dream come true, I attach a screen I made that includes all my dream features. (At least Bernard can use it on he's Dreams page! :-) )
Here's a short description (the data is not correct-just an example):
1-Your hometown's date and time;
2-A line for warning messages arriving from the integrated applications;
3-A smaller field with a second time zone's date and time;
4-A Swatch Beat meter.
(I know some of you hate this Swatch's new approach to time but I must confess that I feel really attracted to it. I believe it's a great way to set a universal time for contacts between people living and working in different countries. Many times I miss an appointment just because someone wasn't able to correctly translate he's time to GMT. [BTW there's a new app called R-Beat that measures this "time". Unfortunately it doesn't have a way to program the correct Beat for your country])
Bernard's comment : "DONE ! If someone wants to use the code I made for universal beat, there is no problem !"

Another software I'd like to see are conversation-software for the PC into the ruputer PIM-filetypes unless the SII-software doesn't run on non-japanese Win9x ,-)

Also, some sort of conversation calculator (Euro! :-) ) would be nice... (and not very difficult to write I think)

Something what's not really necessary: A prg. to draw pictures ,-) DONE !

Or what about a better schedule software? With repeating and other options as the Psion's Agenda?

Usefull to check remote controls: Check wether there is an input signal on the IR and flash the backlight... ... could be added: record & play back IR-commands. Maybe together with a timer .. ;-)

Something more difficult: Write a TSR-Driver to use an infrared keyboard with the ruputer. Would be very nice ,-)

Or a printer driver to pring on printers with IR .. well, not really necessary, but some way cool printing from a watch to HP LaserJet, isn't it? :-) Imagine: You could print on Win into a PRN file and then later at work or on the next fair send this file from your ruputer to the printer ,-))

How about spread sheets for household accounts, business accounts, checking accounts. Some way to maintain a continuing record of bank balance; to whom paid/how much/remaining balance,etc. I dont' know how difficult these programs would be to write, but they would sure be useful.

Since the ruputer has an IR device, can it be used to measure ambient temperature? Read a pulse rate?

I would like to see the conversions of old arcade classics for Ruputer. The most wanted one is Space Invaders, then go Centipede, Donkey Kong and Mario Bros.
