CD-ROM (PC-FILER, SDK, Sound Editor, MMP Maker, ...) @ http://members.xoom.com/timexfun/PCFiles/onHandPCApplication.zip

First testimonies :

First, some tests by Werner HABEL and Dave BUNNELL of RUPUTER applications with their OnHand.

Very interesting pages from Eng Whatt-Toh.

"Today i was brave enough to format my Ruputer Pro (2Mb) under onHand PC Filer. and the flash was formatted without any problems!! i don't know about Ruputer Pro4 formatting under onHand PC Filer, because there are no options with flash capacity there, so i think, the formatting of 2Mb flash is done automatically. but it is possible that onHand PC Filer firstly detects what is the volume of flash disk, then automatically format it with the needed size in mind. i just don't know...
Anyway, if you are Ruputer Pro user, you don't need Ruputer Shell Station anymore - all sorts of flash disk operations can be easily done with onHand PC Filer."

"I can confirm that Ruputer Pro 4 formats ok under onHand pcfiler. Memory size is displayed properly."

"I have tried some Ruputer applications on my onHand with mixed results. Both RMoon, and DaWatch watch apps seem to work but I don't have much use for Japan Standard Time and the Alarms in DaWatch are apparently trying to use Kanji for the days of the week."

From Chris Clark :
"Bernard and I have been trying a few simple experiments with applications built with OnHandPC SDK and the Ruputer SDK. At the moment we can NOT run applications built using the OnHandPC SDK on Ruputer's. However we have been able to successfully run our small test apps on both OnHand and Ruputer when Bernard used his Ruputer SDK. At first we thought it may be the string IO routines but nether sound nor graphics work. We are not sure yet what the problem is. Both Ruputer and OnHand use the same assembler startup.s code. The C code was also the same. The only difference appears to be the runtime library routines that are linked in. Interestingly EXF's built with OnHand SDK are slightly larger than ones built using Ruputer. Has anybody got any information / ideas on this? I'll raise an issue with Matsucom soon to see if they have any ideas / fixes for this problem. In the mean time if anyone does write an application for Ruputer/OnHandPC consider making the source code freely available for downloading."

PC Applications

- a good program to translate japanese into english : TransLingo - www.translingo.com, 25MB). It can be used to translate Japanese web pages on-the-fly ! Some examples at Peter Ljungstrand's URL : http://www.viktoria.informatik.gu.se/~peter/ruputer/.

- An other : InterTran @ http://www.tranexp.com/win/dict/InterTran.cgi

- programs for converting pictures : BMP => MMP by Yasuhiro Odagiri (http://member.nifty.ne.jp/yasuoda/).

- new other programs every day. You will find them in my page Software Library.
